Privacy policy
How Giulio Rocco, trading as Venture Ascend (ABN 35 259 428 596), collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Last updated: 15 August 2026
What we collect
From prospects: name, job title, employer, business phone number, business email address, and publicly available professional information. We obtain this from third party business data providers, including Apollo and Firmable, and from publicly available sources. We also record notes and call outcomes generated by our team during outreach.
From clients and their staff: name, business contact details, and information provided to us in the course of an engagement.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act.
How we use it
We use prospect information to conduct business to business outreach on behalf of our clients, to arrange meetings between prospects and clients, and to keep records of contact outcomes. We use client information to deliver and administer our services.
Before outreach, prospect phone numbers are screened for Do Not Call Register status using our data providers' integrated register data, and flagged numbers are suppressed in our CRM before they reach a caller.
Call recording
We record outbound calls. Every prospect is told at the start of the call that it is being recorded, before any other part of the conversation. If a prospect asks not to be recorded, the recording is stopped or the call is ended, whichever they prefer.
Recordings are used for quality review, script iteration and setter coaching, and are shared with the client on whose behalf the call was made. They are held in the systems listed below, deleted on the same 24 month schedule as other prospect information, and are never sold or shared with anyone else.
You can ask for a recording of your own call to be deleted by emailing us. We will action that and confirm it in writing.
Who we disclose it to
We disclose prospect information to the client on whose behalf the outreach was conducted. We do not sell prospect lists, and a list built for one client is not reused on another client's campaign.
We use third party service providers to run our business, including Apollo and Firmable (data), Pipedrive (CRM), Netlify (website and enquiry forms), and Notion and Slack (internal). Pipedrive hosts Australian customer data onshore in Sydney. Apollo, Netlify, Notion and Slack store or process personal information outside Australia, primarily in the United States. Firmable is an Australian provider and stores data in Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Our outreach is carried out by contractors engaged by us, who access personal information only through our CRM and only for the campaign they are working on.
How it is stored and for how long
Personal information is held in the systems listed above. Access is limited to the business owner and to contractors engaged on the relevant campaign. We protect personal information with named individual logins rather than shared accounts, multi-factor authentication on the systems that support it, access limited to the campaign a contractor is working on, and access revoked when an engagement ends. Contractors work inside the CRM and are not permitted to download or keep local copies of lead data.
We retain prospect information for 24 months from the date of last contact, after which it is deleted. When a client engagement ends, information collected for that client is deleted within 30 days.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing giulio@ventureascend.com. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first.
You can also ask us to stop contacting you. We will action that immediately and add your details to our suppression list.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email giulio@ventureascend.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
